McLennan Baseball sweeps NCTC

The McLennan Highlanders completed the four-game sweep of the North Central Lions with two wins on the road in Gainesville.
 
McLennan took game one 3-2 with Wyatt Cheney getting the complete game on the mound.
 
The Highlanders scored one run in the top of the first as Hunter Grimes walked, advanced to second on a single by Ty Johnson and scored on a fielder's choice by Cole Fontenelle.
 
North Central took the lead with two runs in the bottom of the first. Parks Bouck walked but was out at second on a fielder's choice by Vic Molina. Josh Phillips followed with the two-run homer.
 
McLennan sealed the win with two runs in the fifth as Marquis Jackson walked and scored on Grimes' home run.
 
The Highlanders defeated the Lions 6-3 in the nightcap with Gray Harrison going seven innings on the mound to get the win.
 
McLennan's first run came in the top of the second as Fontenelle singled, advanced around to third on ground outs by Katcher Halligan and Daniel Altman, and scored on a wild pitch.
 
North Central tied the game with a run in the bottom of the third as William Sebera singled, stole second, advanced to third on an error and scored on a single by Bouck.
 
The Highlanders took the lead with two runs in the fifth. Jason Hawkins walked and scored on a triple by Jackson. Grimes then singled to score by Grimes.
 
Another McLennan run scored in the sixth. Johnson and Halligan both walked. Johnson then scored on a sacrifice fly by Altman.
 
Two more Highlander runs scored in the seventh. Hawkins walked and Grimes singled. Hawkins scored on a passed ball, and Johnson singled to score Grimes.
 
The Lions added a run in the seventh as Phillips doubled, advanced to third on a ground out by Molina and scored on a single by Zakery Betancourt.
 
North Central rounded out the scoring with a run in the bottom of the ninth as Phillips doubled and scored on a single by Molina.
 
McLennan continues conference play Wednesday, traveling to Temple for a noon doubleheader.
