McLennan Highlanders pick up one-run win over Hutchinson

The McLennan Highlanders closed out the weekend in the win column following a 6-5 victory over the Hutchinson Blue Dragons. Zach Cawyer picked up the win on the mound for the Highlanders.
 
Hutchinson began the scoring with two runs in the top of the second inning. Cooper Wesslund and Jon Davis both singled and advanced on a sacrifice bunt by Max Childress. Wesslund scored on a sacrifice fly by Christian Powell, and Davis scored on a single by Blake Bradford.
 
Karson Krowka's solo home run to lead off the bottom of the third began the scoring for McLennan.
 
The Blue Dragons added a run in the fourth. Davis walked and advanced to second on a ground out by Childress. Davis then stole third and scored on an error.
 
The Highlanders tied the game with two runs in the bottom of the inning. Chase Brown walked and scored on a double by Xander McAfee. Karson Krowka also walked. McAfee then came around to score on a pair of wild pitches.
 
McLennan took the lead with three runs in the fifth. Elijah Rodriguez walked and advanced on a sacrifice bunt by Jason Hawkins. Brown was hit by the pitch and stole second. Logan Williams singled to score Brown, and Williams scored on a single by McAfee.
 
Hutchinson's final two runs came in the top of the sixth. Wesslund reached on an error and Davis singled, both advancing on a sacrifice bunt by Childress. Wesslund scored on a wild pitch, and Davis scored on a ground out by Powell.
