The McLennan Highlanders slipped one spot to No. 6 in the latest NJCAA Division I Baseball Rankings. The Highlanders have an overall record of 16-7 and are 2-2 in conference play.
The top four teams remained the same: Central Florida, No. 1, 30-1; Walters State (Tennessee), No. 2, 28-4; Central Arizona, No. 3, 27-5; and Iowa Western, No. 4, 14-0. Santa Fe (New Mexico) jumped over McLennan to the No. 5 spot with a 29-1 record.
Other Texas schools ranked: Blinn (23-7), up seven spots to No. 11; and Weatherford (20-7), entering the rankings at No. 20. Midland is receiving votes.
McLennan is on the road today with for a non-conference game at Tyler. Conference play will resume Wednesday with a noon doubleheader at Vernon.
