Highlassies blow out Southwestern Christian

The McLennan Highlassies picked up a blowout 84-47 victory over the last-place Southwestern Christian Lady Rams this afternoon to improve their conference record to 5-1.
 
A jumper in the lane by Russell began the scoring for Southwestern Christian with 7:46 to play in the first quarter. It would be the Lady Rams' only lead of the contest as McLennan responded with an 18-1 run. The run, highlighted by two 3-pointers from Mele Kaloni Kailahi, would put the Highlassies in control. McLennan led 21-5 after one quarter of play.
 
Southwestern Christian picked up the scoring in the second quarter but the Highlassies were able to keep the Lady Rams from making a run. McLennan led by as many as 18 in the period and led 37-21 at the break.
 
McLennan broke the game wide open in the third quarter. The Highlassies went 6-8 from the free throw line and then added back-to-back-to-back 3-pointers from Kenidi White, Ny'Asia Goldman and Raija Todd. McLennan led 58-32 going into the final period. The Highlassies then outscored the Lady Rams 26-15 in the final period, cruising to the easy victory.
 
Mele Kaloni Kailahi led the Highlassies with 17 points and Jade Bradley added 15. Ny'Asia Goldman and Kenidi White scored 12 and 10, respectively.
