McLennan Highlassies thump Cedar Valley

The McLennan Highlassies started the 2021-22 season at full throttle, rolling to an 82-46 victory on the road over the Cedar Valley Suns in Lancaster.
 
The two teams kept it close in the first half with McLennan holding the 34-24 advantage at intermission. The Highlassies poured it on in the second half, outscoring the Suns 48-22 to run away with the victory.
 
Mersadez Nephew led the way for the Highlassies with 24 points, including three 3-pointers. Demetrius Lewis and Mariona Garcia added 11 points each.
 
McLennan returns to action Friday in the MCC Classic. The Highlassies will face Angelina at 6 p.m. Friday and Tyler at 6 p.m. Saturday in the two-day event.
