
In a rare weekday afternoon contest, the McLennan Highlassies trampled the Southwestern Christian Lady Rams, 66-26.
It was all Southwestern Christian early on as Kyara Reynoso and Kamayah Metcalf combined for a 5-0 run. Kinley Brown's jumper put McLennan on the board with 8:15 to go in the first quarter. Metcalf added another 3-pointer for the Lady Rams but the Highlassies responded. McLennan began to pull away, using a 12-0 run to build the six-point lead at 14-8 with 4:41 remaining in the first. Ja'Neicia Kendrick added a 3-pointer for Southwestern Christian but once again McLennan took control, ending the quarter on a 9-0 run to take the 23-11 lead. The Highlassies broke the game wide open in the second quarter. McLennan opened on a 7-0 run and held the Lady Rams to just four points in the period to lead 36-15 at halftime.
The Highlassies' dominance continued in the second half. McLennan outscored Southwestern Christian 20-1 in the quarter to extend the lead to 40, 56-16. The Highlassies continue to roll in the fourth as they cruised to the easy victory.
Brielle Dorsey led the Highlassies with 14 points.
