
The McLennan Highlassies fell to the Hill Lady Rebels 74-58 in Hillsboro
Hill scored the first three points to take the early lead but a Mersadez Nephew 3-pointer from the top of the key quickly tied the game. Back-to-back baskets from Hill's Brandalyn Rice and Kaiden Lemaire out the Lady Rebels up by four, 7-3. A 5-0 Highlassie run comprised of a 3-pointer from Miannah Little and a baseline jumper by Demetrius Lewis put McLennan on top 8-7. The Highlassies led 10-9 midway through the first quarter. An 8-0 Hill run put the Lady Rebels up by seven with two minutes to play in the first and they extended it to 10 at the end of the quarter, 22-12. The Lady Rebels continued to push in the second, extending the lead to 18 at intermission, 41-23.
Hill went up by 22, 47-25, with 8:16 to go in the third. McLennan continued to battle and cut the lead to 14, 56-42, going into the fourth quarter. The Lady Rebels extended their lead back to 20 early in the fourth before the Highlassies began to rally. McLennan cut the Hill lead to 13 multiple times down the stretch but wasn't unable to pull any closer.
Brielle Dorsey and Mersadez Nephew led the Highlassies with 12 points each.
