On rivalry night at The Highlands, the McLennan Highlassies trounced the Temple Lady Leopards.
 
McLennan was fired up from the opening tip. Mersadez Nephew drained a 3-pointer less than a minute into the game to begin the scoring. Temple's Kirsten Zaruba responded with a 3-pointer of her own just 20 seconds later to tie the game at three. Buckets from Nephew and Kinley Brown gave McLennan the early 7-3 lead. The Lady Leopards' Kamari Jones added a basket before the Highlassies went on an 8-0 run including six fast-break points from Nephew to take the 15-5 lead with 6:06 to go in the first quarter. Temple responded with an 8-0 run of their own to pull within two at 15-13 with 3:19 to play. The Lady Leopards continued to fight, cutting the McLennan lead to one, 20-19, and the Highlassies would leads 24-20 at the end of the first. McLennan began to pull away slightly in the second. The Highlassies opened the quarter on a 5-0 run and held Temple to just four points in the period to take the 35-24 lead at halftime.
 
The Highlassies put the game in the third quarter. Already leading by 11, 38-27, with 9:12 to go in the quarter, McLennan put together another 8-0 run to extend the lead to 19 midways through the period. The Highlassies extended the lead to 23 at 56-33 but Temple ended the quarter on a 5-0 run to trim it to 18 heading into the final quarter, 56-38. McLennan held the intensity throughout the final quarter as they cruised to the easy victory.
 
Mersadez Nephew led McLennan with 24 points and Kinley Brown added 15. Miannah Little and Brielle Dorsey scored 11 points each.
