The No. 11 McLennan Highlassies closed out the regular season with a 96-30 thumping of the Southwestern Christian Lady Rams on Sophomore Day at The Highlands.
 
The Highlassies dominated from the opening tip with Chelsea Wooten hitting back-to-back 3-pointers to begin the scoring. Jaylin Vanduck put Southwestern Christian on the board with a 3-pointer of her own. McLennan responded with a 10-0 run to break the game open, 16-3. Amunique Holmes added a 3-pointer for the Lady Rams, and the Highlassies ended the quarter on another 10-0 run to lead 26-6 after the first quarter.
 
McLennan opened the second quarter with back-to-back buckets by Jaydyn Bullard as part of an 8-0 run. The Highlassies outscored the Lady Rams 21-7 in the frame to hold the 47-13 advantage at halftime.
 
The Highlassies continued to roll in the second half. McLennan opened the third quarter on a 10-0 run and led 84-21 going into the final quarter, cruising the rest of the way to the easy victory.
 
Saneea Bevley led the Highlassies with 19 points, including five 3-pointers. Chelsea Wooten scored 14, and Jaydyn Bullard and Bineta Diatta added 12 points each.

Next Up: McLennan begins play in the Region V Tournament March 9 at Frenship High School outside of Lubbock. The Highlassies will be the North No. 2 seed and will face the West No. 3 seed at 5 p.m.
