Carsten, Jackson earn conference weekly award

McLennan Baseball's Will Carsten and Marquis Jackson earned the North Texas Junior College Athletic Conference's Pitcher and Player of the Week awards for March 13-19.

Carsten, a right-hander from San Antonio, earned the pitching award for his performance in the 1-0 victory at Hill. He allowed just five hits while striking out nine in six innings on the mound.

Jackson, a Chicago native, earned the position player of the honor. Jackson had a .417 average against Hill with a double, two home runs, four RBIs and four runs scored. His solo home run in the series opener gave the Highlanders the 1-0 win over the Rebels.
