Rose selected in MLB Draft

McLennan catcher Mac Rose was selected by the Texas Rangers on the final day of the 2024 Major League Baseball (MLB) Draft.

Rose, a freshman catcher from Rockwall, Texas, was chosen in the 20th round with the 615st pick. In 55 games this season, he recorded a .354 batting average with 12 doubles, two triples, seven homeruns, 35 RBI and 49 runs scored. He was a North Texas Junior College Athletic Conference Second-Team selection.
