Nine Highlanders selected for All-Star Weekend
Nine Highlanders will represent McLennan this weekend at the Texas-New Mexico Junior College Baseball Coaches Association All-Star activities at Dallas Baptist University this weekend. Sophomores Alex Wallace, John Carmichael, Cade Waibel, Jonah Conradt, Isaac Godard, Brecken Menuet, Daniel Harden, Owen Smith and catcher Deiten Lachance were all selected for the two-day event.
Wallace, a sophomore right-hander from Rancho Santa Margarita, California, appeared in 14 games last season. He had a 7-2 record on the mound with a 1.81 ERA and 61 strikeouts to earn Second-Team All-Conference honors.
Carmichael, a sophomore right-hander from Destrehan, Louisiana, made 22 appearances on the mound last season with a 3-2 record and two saves, a 2.97 ERA and 30 strikeouts. He was a NJCAA All-Academic Team First-Team selection.
Waibel, a sophomore right-hander from Round Rock, made 12 appearances on the mound, recording a 2-0 record with two saves, a 2.55 ERA and 12 strikeouts. He was a NJCAA All-Academic Team Third-Team selection.
Conradt, a right-hander from Greenville, Wisconsin, made 15 appearances with a 1-3 record, a 7.16 ERA and 29 strikeouts.
Godard, a right-hander from Cedar Hill, appeared in five games with a 1.50 ERA and seven strikeouts.
Menuet, an infielder from Houston, played in 5 games last year, recording a .245 batting average with 11 doubles, a triple, two homeruns and 29 RBI. He was a NJCAA All-Academic Team Second-Team selection.
Harden, an outfielder from Prairieville, Louisiana, played in 61 games last year, recording a .274 batting average with 11 doubles, two triples, eight home runs and 33 RBI.
Smith, an outfielder from Houston, appeared in 38 games with a .402 batting average with four doubles, three homeruns and 33 RBI.
Lachance, a catcher from Sherbrooke, Quebec, Canada, played in all 62 games last year. He recorded a .355 batting average with 14 doubles, two triples, 10 homeruns and 69 RBI to earn First-Team All-Conference honors.
