Highlanders drop two at Grayson
Grayson came from behind to take the opener 8-7 with Logan Harris taking the loss on the mound for the Highlanders.
McLennan started the scoring with a Brennon Seigler solo home run in the first.
The Vikings tied the game with a run in the bottom of the first. Blake Lewis singled and advanced to third on a ground out by Easton Paxton. Caleb Watkins then singled to score Lewis.
The Highlanders took the lead with five runs in the second. Sam Jenkins led off with a solo home run. Tyler Ness and Ramon Corona singled. Peyton Firgens singled to score Ness, and Brock Lulewicz walked. Cooper McEnroe singled to score Corona and Firgens, and Chyr singled to score Lulewicz.
Two more Grayson runs scored in the second. JT Cienega singled but was out at second on a fielder's choice by Boyd Thompson. David Hogg III doubled, and Lewis doubled to score Thompson and Hogg II.
The Vikings tied the game with three runs in the fourth. Cienega singled and Thompson reached on an error. Hogg II followed with a home run.
McLennan took the lead with a run in the top of the sixth. Corona and Firgens both singled, and Seigler walked to load the bases. Lulewicz was then hit by the pitch to score
Grayson stole the win with two runs in the bottom of the sixth. Hogg II walked and Lewis doubled. Colton Roquemore singled to score Hogg. Roquemore stole second, and Lewis scored on a sac fly by Watkins.
In game two, the Vikings defeated the Highlanders 6-3 with AJ Grizzaffi taking the loss on the mound.
McLennan scored one in the first. Firgens singled and stole second, and Lulewicz walked. Firgens then stole third and scored on an error.
Grayson took the lead with back-to-back home runs by Lewis and Roquemore to lead off the bottom of the first.
The Vikings added three runs in the fourth. Watkins was hit by the pitch and Cayden Campbell singled. Isaac Rios walked, loading the bases. Watkins was out at the plate on a fielder's choice by Cienega. Campbell scored on a fly out by Thompson, and Hogg II singled to score Rios and Cienega.
Two Highlanders scored in the seventh. Ness walked, Michael Peavy was hit by the pitch, and Abdiel Hernandez Sostre walked to load the bases. Firgens also walked, scoring Ness, and Seigler singled to score Peavy.
Lewis' home run put Grayson back up by three in the bottom of the seventh, 6-3.
