MCC Dance Company secures paid bid to 2022 national championship

The MCC Dance Company will vie for a fifth consecutive national championship in April after securing a gold-paid bid to the 2022 NDA National Championship in Daytona Beach. The squad impressed the judges this weekend at NDA Camp on the campus of Southern Methodist University to become the first MCC team to qualify for nationals in 2022.

MCC claimed first-place finishes for its division in both Team Dance and Game Day performance. Additionally, sophomores Abby Perkins and Francisco Castro were named NDA All-Americans, and freshman Kaylee Lunch received the Top Gun Turns award.

Earlier this month, seven members of the squad competed at UDA camp. The group brought home Superior Ratings in Performance Routines and Game Day Performance, a Program Improvement Award, and a Leadership Award voted on by all the dance camp attendees.
