McLennan's Gurley earns second conference honor of the season

McLennan basketball's Isaiah Gurley has been named the North Texas Junior College Athletic Conference Player of the Week for Nov. 20-26. This is Gurley's second time receiving the honor this season and the fourth consecutive week a Highlander has earned the award.

Gurley, a 6-3 sophomore guard from Brooklyn, New York, scored 40 points in the Highlanders' two games during the week to go along with 12 rebounds, six assists and three steals. He shot 81.8 from the field in the Highlanders' win over the Concordia University Junior Varsity squad Sunday.
 
The Highlanders are 12-0 on the season and were ranked 24th in the preseason poll released in October. The first regular-season poll will be released Tuesday, Dec. 6.
