Highlanders holding steady in NJCAA basketball poll

The McLennan Community College men's basketball team is holding steady at No. 16 in this week's NJCAA Division I Poll.

The top five remained the same as well: Northwest Florida State, first; Vincennes (Indiana), second; Indian Hills (Iowa), third; Salt Lake (Utah), fourth; and Eastern Florida State in fifth.

Odessa, a Region V opponent for the Highlanders, moved up one spot to 13th this week. Tyler from Region XIV and Hill from Region V moved up from receiving votes to 22nd and 23rd, respectively. Trinity Valley dropped from the poll.

The Highlanders are 13-1 on the season and will return to the court Dec. 30 following the holiday break to host Angelina at 4 p.m.

The next NJCAA poll will be released Jan. 9.
