Highlanders improve to 8-0 with win over Strength 'N Motion

The McLennan Highlanders moved to 8-0 on the season with a 104-71 victory over Strength 'N Motion this afternoon in Hillsboro.
 
McLennan appeared to be taking control of the game early, opening on a 7-0 run. Strength 'N Motion found its rhythm and fought back to take a one-point lead at 13-12 with 13:41 to go in the first half. The two teams traded baskets and the lead for the next five minutes before the Highlanders began to pull away and took the 49-36 lead at the half.
 
Strength 'N Motion opened the second half with back-to-back buckets to cut the lead back to nine, 49-40. A Chris Pryor 3-pointer ignited a McLennan 9-0 run to push the lead to 18. The Highlanders continued to roll down the stretch and Strength 'N Motion was unable to recover.
 
Chris Pryor led the Highlanders with 15 points and Justin Wilson added 14. Dillon Gooding  and Cortland Blake scored 13 and 12, respectively. CJ Hall scored 11 and Khalif Allim added 10.
 
The Highlassies return to play Monday, hosting Panola at 5:30 p.m.
