McLennan Highlanders receive votes in NJCAA poll despite COVID pause
The McLennan Highlanders are continuing to receive votes in the NJCAA Division I Men's Basketball Rankings despite not participating in any contests since Dec. 31. The Highlanders, with an overall record of 13-2, canceled their final non-conference game last week, and have postponed the first three conference games due to COVID-19 issues.
The top four teams in the rankings remained the same this week: Salt Lake (Utah) No 1, Kilgore (Texas) No. 2, John A Logan (Illinois) No. 3 and Northwest Florida State No. 4. Hutchinson (Kansas) sits at No. 5 this week, jumping two spots from No. 7 last week. Dodge City (Kansas), the previous No. 5, fell to No. 10 this week.
Collin, a conference opponent for McLennan, jumped three spots to No. 6 this week. Odessa, a Region V opponent for McLennan and Collin, moved up one spot this week to No. 21. Grayson, another conference opponent, is also receiving votes.
