McLennan basketball players earn conference awards

A pair of McLennan basketball players earned the first North Texas Junior College Athletic Conference Player of the Week awards for the 2022-23 season. Saneea Bevley and Mason Lockhart earned the awards for Oct. 31-Nov. 5.

Bevley, a freshman guard from Kansas City, recorded 50 points, eight assists, four steals and 11 rebounds in three games for the Highlassies last week. She went 7-17 from the field and 6-12 from 3-point range for 20 points in the season opener with Blinn, and 7-15 from the field and 4-11 from 3-point range with 18 points in the win over LSU-Eunice.

Lockhart, a freshman forward from Atlanta, went 7-8 from the field and 2-4 from the free throw line for 16 points in the win over Our Lady of the Lake, and followed that with 11 points and five rebounds in the game against LSU-Eunice.
