Highlanders jump three spots in NJCAA rankings

The McLennan Highlanders, with an overall record of 19-4 jumped three spots to No. 22 in the latest NJCAA Division I Basketball Rankings this week.

The top seven remained the same: Southern Idaho, No. 1; Odessa (Texas), No. 2; Indian Hills (Iowa), No. 3; John A. Logan (Illinois), No. 4; Salt Lake (Utah), No. 5; Tallahassee (Florida), No. 6 and Moberly Area (Missouri), No. 7.

South Plains (Texas), a regional opponent of Odessa and McLennan, dropped four spots to No. 15. Midland (Texas), another regional opponent, moved into the rankings at No. 24.

The second round of conference play for the Highlanders begins Wednesday at The Highlands against the Hill Rebels at 7 p.m.
