The McLennan Highlanders closed out the 2025 edition of the McLennan Classic with an 81-46 thumping of the Fort Sam Houston Rangers.
It was a slow start offensively for both squads. A 3-pointer each from Amare Banks and Joseph Brooks Jr. put the Highlanders up 6-0 with 16:06 to play in the first half. Fort Houston got on the board with a drive to the basket by Ajian Hasantandra with 15:28 to go. McLennan slowly began to pull away, taking the first double-digit lead on an Aiden Law 3-pointer, 14-4. The Highlanders went on to push the lead to 16 at the break, 36-20.
McLennan picked up the scoring in the second half as the team continued to put the game well out of reach.
Amare Banks led the Highlanders with 27 points and Aiden Law added 15.
