Highlanders capture District 2 Preview title
Shattuck, Low named all-tournament
The McLennan Highlanders shot 294-286 – 580 today to claim first place in the NJCAA District 2 Preview at the Sugar Tree Golf Club in Dennis, Texas.
Odessa finished in second place with 308-291 – 595 and Western Texas in third with 299-300 – 599.
Hunter Shattuck shot 71-71 – 142 to lead the Highlanders and finish in second place.
Other McLennan scores: Chris Low, tied for third, 74-71 – 145; Dillon Vaughn, eighth, 77-71 – 148; Ryan Beatty, tied for 11th, 72-78 – 150; Andrew Hans, tied for 17th, 79-73 – 152; and medalist Brandon Wilkins, tied for 20th, 76-78– 154.
Other team scores: Midland, fourth, 298-311 – 609; New Mexico, fifth, 312-303 – 615; Ranger , sixth, 311-316 – 627; Iowa Western, seventh, 318-314 – 632; Hutchinson, eighth, 326-323 – 649; and New Mexico Military, ninth, 346-349 – 695.
