McLennan's Stock named CoSIDA Academic All-District®

McLennan Community College golfer Blake Stock has been named to the 2016 College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District® Men's At-Large Teams recognizing the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom.  

Stock, a Waco native, was named to the College Division District 4 First Team comprised of athletes from the NAIA, Canada and two-year colleges in Arkansas, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, New Mexico, Nevada, Oklahoma, Oregon, Texas, Utah, Washington and Wyoming. First-team Academic All-District® honorees advanced to the CoSIDA Academic All-America® Team ballot where first-, second- and third-team All-America honors will be selected.

Stock graduated this spring with an Associate of Arts degree in General Academics, recording a 3.89 cumulative GPA. As a sophomore, he helped lead the Highlanders to a third place finish in the district and a 14th consecutive national tournament appearance to be held next week in Florida. As a freshman, Stock helped lead the team to a tie for second at the NJCAA Division I National Tournament, the District 2 Championship, second place in the Region V Tournament and an NJCAA All-Academic Team award. He also won the individual District 2 Championship title.
