Highlanders come back for ninth-place finish at NJCAA Preview

The McLennan Highlanders shot 302 today and moved up three spots to finish in ninth place with 311-311-302 – 924 of the NJCAA Division I National Preview at the Buffalo Dunes Golf Course in Garden City, Kansas.

Dodge City finished in first place with 289-287-291 – 867, followed by Indian Hills in second with 285-290-294 –869 and Odessa in third with 302-299-290 – 891. Hutchinson and Midland rounded out the top five with 305-292-296 – 893 and 300-299-296 – 895, respectively.

Sophomore Ryan Brown shot 75-70-75 – 220 to lead the Highlanders and finish tied for 11th place.

Other McLennan scores: Alex Isakson, tied for 38th, 75-80-76 – 231; medalist Judd Tilson, tied for 50th, 79-76-79 – 234; Micah Goulas, tied for 53rd, 80-79-77 – 236; Tyler Uhlig, tied for 56th, 81-82-74 – 237; and Dylan Yarbrough, 69th, 81-83-79 – 243.

This marks the Highlanders' fourth top-10 finish in as many tournaments this fall. They will host the Dr Pepper Classic Oct. 24-25 at Twin Rivers Golf Club.
