Highlanders finish fourth at regional; Patterson named All-Region

The McLennan Highlanders shot 281-287-291 – 859 to finish in fourth place at the  NJCAA Regional at the Quicksand Golf Club in San Angelo.

Odessa finished in first with 280-274-286 – 840, followed by New Mexico in second with 284-283-284 – 851 and Midland in third with 279-282-294 – 855.

Carter Patterson shot 69-69-73 – 211 to lead the Highlanders, finishing in ninth place to earn All-Region honors..

Scores from this tournament are combined with the previous tournament to determine the four automatic qualifiers for the NJCAA Division I National Championship May 14-17 in Hobbs, New Mexico.

Odessa, New Mexico, Midland and Ranger will advance to the national tournament while the other teams await the possibility of an at-large bid to be announced later this week.
