Highlander Golfers claim PING awards

McLennan golfers Abe Bignell and Harvey Denham both snagged a pair of PING Golf Coaches Association Awards at last night's NJCAA Division I Championship Banquet.

Bignell, a freshman from Kent, England, was named to the All-Freshman team and the South Central All-District Team. He competed in 10 tournaments this year, claiming four top-10 finishes including the championship at the Oakwood Intercollegiate. He is ranked 13th nationally by Clippd.

Denham, a sophomore from Winchester, England, was named a PING All-America Honorable Mention selection and to the South Central All-District Team. He competed in nine tournaments this year, claiming four top-10 finishes. He is ranked 11th nationally by Clippd.

The Highlanders begin play this morning in the NJCAA Division I National Championship at Sand Creek Station in Newton, Kansas with a single round each day through Friday.
