Highlanders ranked sixth in preseason poll

The McLennan men's golf squad will begin the season ranked sixth in the Bushnell/Golfweek NJCAA Division I Coaches' Poll. The Highlanders received 40 points in the preseason poll.

Defending national champion Midland (Texas) sits atop the rankings with 90 points, followed by Hutchinson (Kansas) in second with 69 and Indian Hills (Iowa) in third with 68.

Other South Central District squads ranked include: Odessa, fourth, 67; New Mexico, fifth, 58; Western Texas, eighth, 24; and Tyler, ninth, 22. Blinn and Weatherford are receiving votes.

The Highlanders open the fall season Sept. 6 at the Andrews Collegiate/Amateur Invitational in Andrews, Texas.
