Four McLennan Highlanders named NFCA First-Team All-Americans
For the first time in program history, four McLennan Softball Players have been named National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) NJCAA Division I First-Team All-Americans in the same season. Sophomores Katia Reyes and Taylor Meier along with freshmen Trinity Allen and Madison Garcia were all chosen for 2024.
Reyes, a shortstop/pitcher from Weslaco, played in 64 of the Highlanders 65 games, recording a .426 batting average with 15 doubles and five triples. She led the team with 25 home runs and 101 RBI, and had a .974 fielding percentage.

All four were named to the NFCA West All-Region teams earlier this week. Reyes and Meier and Allen were named to the First Team, and Garcia was a Second Team selection.
NFCA All-Region and All-America athletes must be nominated by their NFCA-member head coach, are voted for by the coaches in their region or division, and ultimately selected by elected NJCAA Division I All-American committee members to receive this prestigious accolade. All special awards are also selected by the All-American committee members or by the entire division.
