Handful of Highlanders earn NFCA All-American honors
Five McLennan Softball players were named to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) NJCAA Division I All-American list for the 2025 season. Frist-team honors went to Trinity Allen, Mickayla Tosch, MJ Nicholson and Tehya Pitts, and Ally Thompson was a Second Team selection.
Allen, a sophomore first baseman from Cypress, appeared in 59 of the Highlanders' 60 games. She recorded a .481 batting average with 21 doubles, two triples, 23 home runs and 95 RBI. She was also named an NFCA First-Team All-Region West and NTJCAC First-Team All-Conference selection, and the NTJCAC Most Valuable Player.
Tosch, a sophomore left fielder from Rosenberg, played in 58 of the Highlanders' games. She had a .433 batting average with 18 doubles, 10 triples, 11 home runs and 65 RBI. She was also named an NFCA First-Team All-Region West and NTJCAC First-Team All-Conference selection.
Nicholson, a sophomore designated hitter, from Downingtown, Pennsylvania played in 55 games. She had a .478 batting average with 20 doubles, a triple, 14 home runs and Thompson, a sophomore second baseman from Beaumont, played in 57 games. She recorded a .396 average with 14 doubles, four triples, three home runs and 46 RBI. . She was also named an NFCA First-Team All-Region West and NTJCAC First-Team All-Conference selection.
Pitts, a sophomore centerfielder from Corinth, played in all 60 Highlander games. She had a .472 average with 13 doubles, four triples and 31 RBI. She was also named an NFCA First-Team All-Region West and NTJCAC First-Team All-Conference selection.
Thompson, a sophomore second baseman from Beaumont, played in 57 games. She recorded a .396 average with 14 doubles, four triples, three home runs and 46 RBI. She was also named an NFCA Second-Team All-Region West and NTJCAC First-Team All-Conference selection.
