The No. 6 McLennan Highlanders completed the conference series sweep over the North Central Lions with two wins on Play4Kay Day at Bosque River Ballpark.
McLennan got the 10-3 victory in the opener with Skylar Scott picking up the win in the circle.
The Highlanders scored one in the bottom of the first. Chayne Allen and Kaelani Rogers both singled and advanced on a ground out by Traci Lowry. Allen then scored on a sacrifice fly by Lily King.
North Central tied the game with a run in the third. Cameron Stuhr and Rylee Adams both singled. Stuhr then scored on an error.
McLennan took the lead with five runs in the bottom of the third inning. Lowry singled and advanced on a ground out by King. Tayen Allen then singled to score Lowry. Brooke Fechner and Delanie Roeder both singled. Rylie Marquart followed with a grand slam.
The Lions scored two in the top of the fourth. Kayla Myatt singled but was out at second on a fielder's choice by Holly Mahan. Rylee Bogard replaced Mahan as the runner at first. Faith Ramirez and Stuhr both singled, loading the bases. A fielder's choice by Lyela Nieves put Bogard out at the plate. Abby Wolf then doubled to score Ramirez and Stuhr.
The Highlanders rounded out the scoring with four runs in the fourth. Lowry and King both singled, and Tayen Allen reached on an error. Fechner singled to score Lowry and King. Tayen Allen scored on a ground out by Marquart, and Fechner scored on an error.
McLennan closed out the series with a 9-0 run-rule shutout. Natalie Klenda got the win on the mound.
Once again, the Highlanders scored one in the first. Rogers and Macie Jansky both singled. Fechner singled, and Rogers scored on an error.
Three McLennan runs scored in the second. Lilian Jones walked and scored on a triple by Chayne Allen. Rogers followed with a two-run homer.
The Highlanders put five more runs on the board tin the third. Tayen Allen and Fechner both singled. Allen stole home and Roeder reached on an error. Both runners advanced on a sac bunt by Marquart, and Fechner scored on a sac fly by Jones. Karaline Smitherman singled, scoring Roeder. Chayne Allen and Rogers both singled. Jasnky then singled to score Smitherman, and Chayne Allen scored on an error.
