McLennan women crush Cisco
The McLennan women rolled to a crushing victory over the Cisco Wranglers 70-46 this afternoon in Cisco.
McLennan was in the control from the opening tip, starting the game on an 8-0 including six points from Charravia Smith and a bucket from Lanaijha Johnson. Nella Bernasova put Cisco on the board with a 3-pointer but McLennan responded with a 6-0 including a pair of buckets by Charnelle Hoof to build an 11-point lead, 14-3. McLennan pushed the lead to 13 at 20-7 but a 5-0 run from the Wranglers cut that to eight at the end of the first, 20-12.
In the second, McLennan held Cisco at arm's length. The Wranglers cut the lead to eight with strong shooting from 3-point range but McLennan held its ground, pushing the lead to 15 at halftime, 41-26.
McLennan opened the third on a 6-0 run with points from Tajenae Gooden, Smith and Johnson. The squad never looked back as they continued to pull away as the seconds clicked by. McLennan led by as much as 27 late in the game, picking up the lop-sided win.
Lanaijha Johnson led McLennan with 22. Charravia Smith scored 12 points, and Tajenae Gooden added 10.
