The McLennan Highlanders continued their dominating performances in North Texas Junior College Athletic Conference play with a pair of run-rule wins over the Hill Rebels.
Landrie Harris threw a five-inning no-hitter to get the 8-0 win in the opener.
The Highlanders scored one run in the first. Trinity Allen singled, stole second and third, and scored on a single by MJ Nicholson.
McLennan added six runs in the second. Ally Thompson doubled and Madison Garcia walked. Thompson advanced to third on a fly out by Alyssa Moreno, and Garcia stole second. Aynsli Lawson then grounded out to score Thompson, and Garcia score don a single by Tehya Pitts. Mickayla Tosch singled and Allen walked to load the bases. Nicholson followed with a grand slam.
In the bottom of the fifth, Thompson walked and advanced on a sac bunt by Garcia. Thompson then moved to third on a fly out by Moreno and scored the game-winning run on a single by Lawson.
McLennan shut out Hill 26-0 in the nightcap with Addyson Canfield getting the win.
Tosch's solo home run in the second began the scoring.
The Highlanders exploded for 13 runs in the second inning. Garcia doubled, Moreno walked and Pitts singled to load the bases. Tosch singled, scoring Garcia, and Allen followed with a grand slam. Nicholson singled and Macie Jansky doubled. Madison Levsey doubled to score Nicholson and Jansky. Garcia walked, and both runners advanced on a double steal. Levsey scored on a sac fly by Moreno, and Lawson walked. Garcia stole third, and Pitts walked. Tosch walked, scoring Garcia. Allen then doubled to score all three runners. Nicholson followed with a single to score Allen.
Twelve more McLennan runs in the bottom of the fourth rounded out the scoring. Nicholson doubled to lead off. Jansky and Lexie Sawyer both walked, loading the bases. Natalie Klenda walked to score Nicholson. Moreno then reached on an error, scoring Jansky. Thompson singled to score Sawyer, and Delanie Roeder singled to score Klenda. Allen was hit by the pitch, scoring Moreno. Nicholson then reached on an error to score Thompson. Jansky followed with a single to score Roeder and Allen. Klenda singled, and Moreno singled to score Nicholson and Jansky. Klenda and Moreno advanced on a wild pitch, and Thompson singled to score both runners.
