The Highlanders ran away with the opening set, taking a 10-point lead at 19-9 and winning the set 25-13.
Mountain View bounced back in the second set, leading the majority of the way. The Lions led 17-13 and pushed it to 20-14 before getting the win 25-17.
Set three was close from start to finish with McLennan getting the narrow 25-23 win.
The Lions rallied again in the fourth to tie the match at two games each, 25-16.
In the deciding set, the Highlanders were down by four, 11-7 and rallied to tie at 12. A Rimlinger kill put McLennan on top 12-11 and another Rimlinger kill would be the winning point, 15-13.
