Highlanders fall to No. 3 Weatherford 3-0

The McLennan Highlanders fell to No. 3 Weatherford 3-0 this afternoon at The Highlands.
 
Weatherford controlled the first set, opening on a 6-0 run. McLennan fought but couldn't overcome the deficit, giving the Coyotes the set at 25-13.
 
The Highlanders stepped up their game in the second set, opening on a 3-0 run. McLennan pushed the lead to four before Weatheford rallied to tied the set at nine. The Highlanders led 14-13 when the momentum switched to. The Coyotes scored six straight points to go up by five, 19-14. McLennan continued to battle, pulling within two at 22-20 but Weatherford was able to hold off the rally to take it 25-20.
 
McLennan opened the third set on a 3-0 before Weatherford tied the set at seven. The teams went back-and-forth before the Coyotes began to pull away and close the set 25-14.
 
McLennan travels to Corsicana Monday to face the Navarro Bulldogs at 6 p.m.
